Cedarwood products and wooden toys

A toy made in a workshop in Marrakesh makes a wonderful gift for your children or grandchildren. Our jewellery boxes, wooden coasters and chessboards are made from cedarwood – a noble conifer which also grows in the High Atlas. These are all premium-quality products which have been carefully handcrafted. The exquisite inlay work is especially time-intensive.

Argan Oil

Argan oil is produced from the fruits of the rare argan tree. This special tree, which over millions of years has adapted to the extreme dryness of the semi desert, can yield fruit several times each year. Its plum-like fruit is inedible. The wood, leaves and fruits of the tree, however, are very valuable. The nuts in the flesh of the fruit are three times the size of hazelnuts and very difficult to crack. The “almond“ inside is smaller than a sunflower seed. It is from this seed that the oil is extracted. The oil is unusually rich in alpha-tocopherol, which has the highest activity of vitamin E. Pure oil from argan fruit nourishes the skin and helps with neurodermatitis and acne. As a food oil it helps reduce cholesterol levels. Argan oil is currently one of the most precious foodstuffs in the world.

Rose Soap

Rose soap comes from the nearby Dades Valley. Gardens line the river and roses are cultivated as dividing hedges. Rose soap and perfume are produced from the blossoms of the flowers. There is an annual rose festival in El Keela M’Gouna which is well worth a visit. Rose soap is undoubtedly an exceptionally beautiful gift for any woman.
