Excursions

We own a total of nine Toyota Landcruiser and Ford Transit vehicles. We use these for trips with a maximum of six people and from one to any number of days.
Trips are possible in the region or further afield to the High Atlas or in the direction of Agadir or Fes.

->The Casbah Route and the Dades Valley (two days)
Visit another beautiful oasis landscape on the other side of the Anti-Atlas. Following the course of the Dades river a view opens over rugged mountain landscapes and into deep rocky gorges. These were carved thousands of years ago by watercourses into the southern slopes of the High Atlas. The splendid oasis is dotted with old fortified villages. The typical brown colour of the adobe bricks from which the houses are skilfully made form an impressive contrast with the verdant green of the valley.

-> Hamada du Drâa (two days)
Passing through Zagora and Tamegroute (Koran library), the end of the Drâa river valley is reached after M’hamid. M’hamid is the point of departure for a trip into another world: the world of the desert in all its conceivable facets. The area towards the Moroccan-Algerian border offers everything an off-roader could possibly desire: stone desert, sand dunes, wadis and an astonishingly diverse flora and fauna. The trail leads to Che-Gaga, where it is possible to spend the night. Travelling along the mostly waterless Lac Iriqui you come to Foum Zguid, from where the road leads back to Agdz..

->Marrakesh, High Atlas, Taroudant, Vallée du Drâa (two to three days)
We collect you directly from Marrakesh airport. The journey then starts into the High Atlas near Asni. The region at the foot of the highest peak in North Africa (Jbel Toubkal 4167m) is perfect for trekking. The journey continues over the Tizi-n-Test pass to Olad-Berkil or Taroudant. It is possible to spend the night in both villages. Located just 80 km from Agadir, Taroudant looks like a small imperial city. Embedded within massive ochre adobe walls, the town reminds the visitor of Marrakesh. Following the Anti-Atlas range, the journey continues via Tasla to Agdz. The excursion can be continued and concluded in Marrakesh..

->Vallée du Dades, Gorges du Todra and Tafilalt (three to four days)
From Ouarzazate the road leads north east into the Vallée du Dades, where the visitor can see numerous Ksour in the green palm-dotted landscape under white mountain peaks. The Palmeraie de Skoura palm grove is well worth a visit. On the trail the journey continues in the direction of Toubist and via Ait Oual into the Dades Gorge. A detour to the Dades Gorge and/or the Gorges du Todra, with an overnight stay in Tinerhir, offers an interesting change of landscape. From Tinerhir the journey continues south east to Erfoud, one of the main gateways to the Sahara. This vast oasis region is home to the Alawites, who have been ruling Morocco for over 400 years. The sandy desert landscape of Merzouga, where the night will be spent, is in the near vicinity of Merzouga. The trail continues to Oued Ziz and through the Daya-el-Maider lake towards Tazzarine, where the night is spent in our partner hotel in Tamsahlte, the Riad du Sud. From here the trail leads via Tanoumrhit back to Agdz..

->Marrakesh, High Atlas, Ouarzazate, Vallée du Dades, Gorges du Todra, Tamsahlte (four to six days)
We collect you directly from Marrakesh airport. We then travel via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass to Telouèt (Glaoui casbah) . The region in the foothills of the high mountains is perfect for trekking. The journey then continues to Ait Benhaddou, an exceptionally beautiful Berber village (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Via Ouarzazate the road leads into the Vallée du Dades where numerous ksour are dotted amid the palm landscape. It is well worth taking a detour into the Gorges du Dades and/or the Gorges du Todra. The trail continues southward into the Anti-Atlas. We take a short break in the village of Iknouin on the Tizi-n-Tazazert pass (2200m). The night is spent on the other side of the pass in Tamsahlte. The next day it is well worth visiting the Tarbahlt dunes, after which we continue to Agdz in the Drâa Valley..

-> Marrakesh, Atlantic, the far south, Sahara, Agdz (eight days)
From Marrakesh the journey takes us west to the Atlantic coast. Our arrival in Essaouira (previously Mogador) is heralded by the freshness of the wind. The small town by the rough sea has its own unique aesthetic. The design of the fortified town, drawn up by the Portuguese, is based on the cross of Jesus. The visitor rarely notices this. Driven on by countless sensory stimuli, you stride through souk by souk. The broad sandy beach and fishing harbour are perfect for relaxation. The road in the direction of Agadir – the tourism metropolis – takes you along a largely unspoilt coastline. From Agadir the road continues to the far south of Morocco. The next overnight stay is on the endless Plage Blanche. From Tan-Tan or Guelmine you travel through the desert via Akka to Tata. The lonely stretch of desert road leads north east to Agdz in the Drâa Valley. Via Ouarzazate and the High Atlas we travel back to Marrakesh.
